This birthday I realized I’m not afraid of getting old.
I’m not terrified that my skin gets wrinkled or my hair turns grey (that’s not something new anyway).
But if I’m scared of something,
I’m scared of being far away from those who make me feel young and alive.
Aditza, who says the funniest things with a serious face
Lili, who can share 100 smiles per second with her eyes
Ani, who amazes me with her wisdom
Mari, who always has something tough to say
Alina, and her crazy songs & hair
Sami, and his adventures
Dani, with a crazy courage
Magda, and her ideas of having fun
Flo, and his creativity bursts
Mom, who’s not afraid to believe in miracles
My niece Ana, and her imaginary world where to wolf is a good guy
My niece Chloe, who hangs on my neck and doesn’t wanna go and looks right through me with her blue eyes
My nephew Jedidiah, and his cute stories about flying reindeers, dinosaurs princess and monkey hamsters
My high school long enduring friends: Sonia, Maria, InaP, Lupina, AnaC, AlinaI, LigiaC who I hope to still find willing for adventure
My college friends: Iulia, Alexia & CriCri
And.. I’m sorry if I missed anybody.
In the meantime, i thank those who are still around me for doing a great job helping me not to go crazy :)) and the champion is Lowell, with his "Cristina" voice and silly lyrics.
I think I did my part in being a responsible adult so far,
and this year I should work some more on learning how to be a kid again,
So…excuse-me but I gotta go finish my sand castle.
